Fork is that part or portion of mountain bike that holds the front wheel and allows its rider to steer and balance the bike. Construction of fork goes something like – there are two drop outs to hold the front wheel axle, there are two blades to join at fork crown and there is a steering tube which is attached to the handle bars. Mountain bikes fork are generally having an offset for reducing the trail. Larger trail may result in difficulties in turning the bike. Depending upon the type of riding, the offset varies. Overall geometry of the fork will affect the trail. In all the mountain bikes, forks are provided with suspension or shock absorbers. Suspension forks are undergoing tremendous changes in the design and are becoming more danced and technologically sophisticated. Mountain bikes manufacturers will manufacture different forks for Downhill, Cross Country, freeride and other riding conditions.
