In mountain biking community, a magazine named Fat Tire Flyer is considered to be the first mountain bike magazine. It was first published in 1980. The magazine was not printed in a conventional printing press and instead was typewritten, Xeroxed and circulated.

Singletrack magazine based out of Europe is crafted entirely by mountain bikers and it is made for mountain bikers. It is a very popular magazine among mountain bikers and is published seven times in a year.
